Crimea is one of those rare countries, in that it is still relatively untouched by mass UK tourism. The up side of this is that the country has managed to retain it's natural beauty and character without missing the mass charter flight market too much. Crimea is a country of contrasts with lush forests, exotic vineyards, deep gorges and sun soaked beaches. With the Yalta mountains offering one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. The country offers its visitors an excellent climate with temperatures rivalling those of the Algarve.
The history of the region rivals any other in the world with the country dating back to the 6th century when it began to export grain to the ancient Greeks. After which the Romans, the Tartars, the Turks and finally the Russians all had their periods in this country before Ukraine declared its independence in 1991.
Over the years the Crimea region developed into a popular holiday retreat for wealthy Russians, East Germans and Ukrainians who came to the region for it's climate and the health spa's. These are dotted all across the country offering their guests a range of treatments such as mud & mineral based treatments, mineral springs, and saunas.
The Crimean people are an interesting blend of Ukrainian, Russian & Tartar and they pride themselves in being a hospitable, friendly and generous people.
