ARMENIA

Armenia offers tourists a unique opportunity to visit one of the true homes of civilisation and is a land full of many pleasant surprises. Armenia is home to many wonderful archaeological sites, friendly people, and interesting cities But the true beauty of the country can only be seen when you leave the noise of the big city and step out in the beautiful surrounding countryside, where you can lie back in the fields of wildflowers while gazing up at the snow capped mountains contemplating the meaning of life.

It is a small country, which can be found sitting between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It has a fairly unique climate, which offers sub-tropical sunshine in the South but where the Southern mountain ranges are usually in snow during the winter. The country is spared the harsh winters of its Russian neighbours by the Caucasus Mountains. The country’s main weather fronts blow in from Persia & Syria, which dictates that the winter months of November to April/May is the wet/snow season and the summer months can get very hot.

Armenia offers a selection of organised activates which range from art tours to guided hikes and cave expeditions. Armenia offers skiers the chance to sample some excellent ski resorts at much cheaper prices than the crowded piste’s of France and Austria.

Due to the fact that tourism is not yet fully established in the country there are definable seasons. The autumn months are considered by many to be the best time to plan a visit. The general cost of living in Armenia is extremely good which is good news for tourists, but in Yerevan hotels offer European style facilities at European style rates.
